Inspiration for our jewellery comes from the natural environment and its multitude of colours that evoke our senses. We work with bold colours and neutral shades and combine pottery beads with other elements such as natural stone, glass, acrylic, and wood, in many of our pieces to both accentuate and to soften the lines.

Our pottery beads are made from Australian clay that is fired in a pottery kiln to temperatures above 1,100 degrees and occasionally, bisque fired beads may also be taken through a wood or pit firing. A number of techniques are employed to produce different finishes, some of which may be reasonably predicted, while others may never be repeated.

Our hand-made pottery beads do not presume to be identical or perfect. Each one is unique, so sizes, shapes, textures and colours will vary. We embrace these variances as they are the very essence of hand-made products that sets them aside from mass-produced items.

The scope of our range has also been broadened to include hand-painted wooden beads. These beads are paired with pottery beads to reinforce the uniqueness of each piece and to appeal to a wider customer base. It is possible to create a piece with beads up to 35mm across using wooden beads, something that would not be practical in pottery due to it's weight. Most of our hand-painted wooden beads feature in the Colour Explosion Collection.

We also showcase a small selection of our work on MadeIt, an on-line marketplace, and  will continue to do so while we are enjoying the journey.

    Coastal Collection

    The Coastal Collection is about the sea, the sand, and rainforests. The sights, the sounds and the smells that awaken our senses, from that wonderful smell of the fresh salty air to the invigorating and heart-warming smells of the rainforests. It is about contrasts. The gentle sounds of waves lapping the shore, to the thunderous sounds of huge swells crashing against rocks. The sounds of trees swaying in the breeze, leaves rustling as they make their way to the forest floor, and bird-song that is a choir of a diverse range of species.

    This collection exploits and embraces "difference", challenging your ideas on balance and harmony. The hand-made pottery beads in this collection are even more organic than those in our other collections. Unlike geometric shapes with perfect edges and precise lines, organic shapes generally lack consistent edges, lines and curves, and are more unpredictable and flowing. The same uninhibited approach has been used with the glazing of these pieces embracing muted and indistinct lines and edges.

  • Chains and Earrings

    These necklaces consist of a single bead string that is attached to a chain and finished with either a lobster or magnetic clasp. They are a more elegant and feminine alternative to leather-strung necklaces and are generally shorter in length.

    Please note: Dark silver and antique silver chains are normally plated with platinum and bright silver chain is plated with sterling silver. The chemical composition of skin varies from person to person and those with very acidic skin may find that, over time, the plating on metal can erode and/or tarnish.  Perfume can also have the same effect on these products.

    Our earrings are suitable for sensitive ears as they have either surgical steel or stainless steel posts and backs.
